Calgary to Canmore
Distance
105 km
Drive Time
~1h 10m
Vehicle
Executive or Elite XL
Service
Private, door-to-door
The closest mountain town to Calgary — a quick, scenic run for a day trip, a conference, or a weekend at the base of the Three Sisters peaks.
Why people book this route
The shortest of the four routes, which makes it the easiest one to treat as routine. A conference, a weekend, or a straightforward evening arrival won't turn into an event in itself.
How it's usually booked
A direct one-way transfer is the point-to-point structure. Same-day return trips are possible, so tell us your plans and we'll arrange it.
Canmore to Calgary, including drops at YYC, is the same trip in reverse — book it for whatever time works, same-day or otherwise.
Along the way
The Trans-Canada Highway west from Calgary reaches Canmore faster than any of the other mountain routes, with the Three Sisters peaks visible well before you arrive. Canmore sits just outside Banff National Park, so unlike the Banff and Lake Louise routes, there's no park entry fee for a trip that ends here.
Good to know
Because it's the shortest route, it's a realistic same-day round trip even for a short meeting or a single dinner reservation. Cell coverage is consistently strong along this stretch, and winter driving conditions are generally milder here than further along the Icefields Parkway toward Lake Louise or Jasper.
Runs year-round, conditions permitting. Winter trips use winter-rated tires.
