Booking
The PrimeKar app is the direct way — enter your trip, see the pricing, and confirm. It's available on the App Store and Google Play. If you'd rather not use an app, you can also ask us to arrange the ride for you by contact form, phone or email.
Yes. Contact us by form, phone or email and we'll go through the details with you. We'll tell you the fare, and once you're happy with it we send a payment link by text. The ride is confirmed once that's paid. You never need to install the app for the ride to go ahead — if you'd like to see the trip in the app afterwards you can, but it's optional.
Not on its own. A form submission, a call or an email is a request — it starts the conversation. The ride becomes a confirmed booking once we've agreed the fare with you and the payment is complete.
The app requires about two hours' lead time, so that's the practical minimum for booking yourself. Beyond that it's a recommendation rather than a rule: a day ahead is comfortable for airport and executive travel, and one to two weeks is sensible for events in peak season, particularly if you need more than one vehicle. Earlier always improves availability.
Sometimes. The app won't let you book inside its roughly two-hour window, but if you call us we can occasionally arrange something sooner depending on what's available. It isn't guaranteed — PrimeKar is a pre-scheduled service rather than an on-demand one, so the shorter the notice, the less likely we can help.
Yes. Rides can be arranged for a family member, a guest or a colleague rather than the person who booked. Enter their pickup details when you request the ride, or tell us when you contact us and we'll set it up.
Pricing & Payment
You'll see pricing for your trip before you confirm it in the app. For hourly, full-day or multi-stop bookings, and for anything involving several vehicles, we quote individually — contact us and we'll price it around what you actually need.
The price shown before you confirm is what the trip is expected to cost. It can be adjusted afterwards if the trip itself changes — extra distance, additional stops, or waiting time beyond what's included. We'd rather say that plainly than surprise you later.
Through the app for app bookings, using a credit card or a mobile wallet such as Apple Pay or Google Pay. If we've arranged the ride for you, we send a payment link by text once you've approved the fare.
Yes. Ride confirmations and receipts are issued for every trip.
Calgary Airport (YYC)
For arrivals into Calgary, yes — you can add the flight you're arriving on when you book, and PrimeKar tracks it, so your pickup follows your actual landing rather than the scheduled one. This applies to flights arriving into YYC. For a ride to the airport, you choose the pickup time yourself.
If you've added your arriving flight, your pickup adjusts to when you actually land, at no extra charge. Your complimentary waiting time starts at your real landing time, not the time on the ticket.
Curbside at an arrivals door. Once you're through with your bags, you and your driver agree the exact door between you by call or message in the app — it varies with the terminal and how the airport is running that day. PrimeKar uses coordinated curbside pickup rather than an indoor name-sign meeting.
Yes. Rides run at any hour, every day — a 4 a.m. airport departure is a normal booking. Arrange it in advance like any other trip.
Yes. An arrival at Calgary International continuing to Canmore, Banff, Lake Louise or Jasper is arranged as a single trip rather than two bookings, with your inbound flight tracked the same way as any other YYC pickup.
Waiting & No-Shows
45 minutes from the moment your flight actually lands, at no charge — enough for customs and baggage without rushing. If you need longer and you're in touch with your driver through the app, they can keep waiting, with the additional time charged by the minute.
15 minutes from the scheduled pickup time, at no charge. After that your driver can wait a further 15 minutes with the extra time charged by the minute.
For a normal pickup, if we haven't heard from you 30 minutes after the scheduled time, the trip can be recorded as a no-show and the full fare applies. For an airport arrival there's more room — that point is 90 minutes after landing, and only if we can't reach you at all. Staying in contact is what matters; a message telling your driver you're running behind changes the outcome entirely.
Because customs, immigration and baggage are outside anybody's control, and a fifteen-minute window would be unrealistic after an international arrival.
Changes & Cancellations
Yes. Cancel more than two hours before your scheduled pickup and there's no cancellation fee — you're refunded in full. At two hours or less before pickup, the full fare is charged, because the vehicle and driver are already committed to you.
Not directly in the app — confirmed rides can't be edited yourself. Contact us instead and we'll adjust it for you where we can. The sooner you get in touch, the more options there are.
Contact us the same way you arranged it — phone, email or the form. You don't need the app to cancel a ride we set up for you.
If we can't safely run a confirmed mountain trip — a road closure, or conditions that make it unsafe — we'll offer to reschedule first. If that doesn't suit you, you're refunded in full. That isn't treated as a cancellation on your side, so no cancellation charge applies.
Vehicles & Luggage
PrimeKar Executive carries up to 4 passengers and is comfortable with up to 3 large checked suitcases. PrimeKar Elite XL carries up to 6 and is comfortable with up to 4. Those are guides rather than hard limits — actual room depends on your bags and the vehicle assigned. If you're close to the line, choose the larger class or ask us.
Yes. Choose PrimeKar Elite XL for the extra room, and tell us what you're bringing when you book so we send the right vehicle. Winter gear and sports equipment are routine on the mountain routes.
Not as standard — normally you'd bring and fit your own. We can sometimes arrange one if you ask in advance by contact form or email; it's subject to availability and there's an additional charge. Please don't count on requesting one at pickup.
Mountain Routes
Calgary and Calgary International Airport, plus the mountain destinations — Canmore, Banff, Lake Louise and Jasper.
Yes, all four run year round, conditions permitting. The vehicles used for winter mountain trips run winter-rated tires. Road closures and severe weather can still affect a trip, and when they do we'll reschedule or refund rather than attempt something unsafe.
It's possible, but it's roughly four and a half hours each way before you've stopped for anything, so for a sightseeing trip we'd usually suggest staying overnight. If you'd rather do it in a day, tell us what you have in mind and we'll arrange it around your plans. Jasper isn't a quick day trip, and we'd rather set that expectation up front.
Corporate & Support
Yes — centralised billing, priority booking and a direct line for account questions. Corporate accounts are set up with a person rather than through the app. Get in touch through the Corporate page and we'll respond within 24 hours.
Call us — the phone line is answered 24 hours a day, every day, and it's the fastest route for anything urgent. During a ride you can also call or message your driver directly in the app to sort out pickup details. For anything after a trip, or anything that isn't urgent, phone or email works.
Yes. PrimeKar is licensed and insured to operate private driver and limousine services in Calgary and Alberta.
